No ECU power pretty much kills all activity on the engine as it also provides the 'trigger' pulses to the 2 coils connected to the sparkplugs.

At least the S/V40's don't have a distributor anymore, so that's one less possible problem area. :-)

But no ECU power also means that the system relay fails somehow as it's fed power pretty directly to keep interference levels low.

Could perhaps still be a bad ignition switch?
