Re: Possible new V70 R owner needs advice. V70-XC70 2000

I purchased a 2000 V70R AWD just six weeks ago. I love it! I've been driving Subarus for 17 years, so I'm used to a good AWD system. So far, the V70 has been great. My experience so far with the AWD is that I drove on country roads (including some dirt) the day after a foot of snow fell here in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York. The car performed every bit as well as my Subaru Legacy AWD wagon ever did. One difference: I've got four new Gislaved snow tires on the Volvo; the Subaru never needed snows, even in the Rocky Mountains in winter. But the V70R has awesome power (261 hp), the handling is quite good and I feel completely secure. Good luck.
