Just to offset this - my '98 S70 GLT has been almost trouble free - better than '92 Maxima and better than '88 325. It had to be taken to the dealer 5 times in 2 months after I bought it used 1.5 years ago (nothing too serious), but I just wanted them to make it 100% perfect back then, and it stays that way to the day.

Last 12 months - just 2 trips to the dealer for minor repairs, which were done quickly and professionally.

If you think that you'll be a lot happier with, say, a Bimmer - you're gravely mistaken. They also have dealer- and quality- related problems. They have lemons, too. Just get on a BMW-related discussion board and read it all yourself.
