Klaus, I pulled the blower, lubed the fan shaft, and cleaned the fan blades. That has basically eliminated the noise. Is the cabin temp sensor on the front of the dash or on top? Can it be cleaned? Who is a good source for the resistor other than the dealer, Erie Volvo?
