I'm considerably frustrated now with an annoying "pop" I hear while driving my 1999 V70 AWD (~31000 miles). A single "pop" is heard while driving at low speeds (such as parking lot maneuvering). It occurs when turning left or right. It doesn't always occur, but more often than not.
About a month ago, I took the car to the semi-local Volvo dealer for troubleshooting this problem. The service manager rode around with me and confirmed the noise and after a day and a half of tightening the suspension components (front and rear), inspecting the steering rack, and such the pop was still not eliminated. They scheduled me to bring it in last week when the Volvo NA rep was there so that he could lend his expertise to the problem. The rep said that on a few occasions that there was a problem with some spacer on the front suspension and authorized my front struts to be replaced.
I picked the car up Friday and the service manager said he had personally driven the car to confirm that the pop was gone. But low and behold when driving on Saturday the POP was still there. It's really annoying me and although the dealer scheduled me to bring it back in next week I have a feeling they are a bit unsure what to do. Please, if anyone else has ANY idea what the problem might be, please reply back. I'd appreciate the input.
Thanks
