Engine stalls upon starting V70-XC70 2004

I double checked the direction of the fuel filter last evening. It is oriented correctly; arrow pointing towards the front of the car, and the flange ingaged in the cut out of the bracket. Carefully looked at the connectors, and again saw no evidence of leakage. Also, found no odor of gas anywhere around the fuel filter area.

Any other ideas as to what is causing fuel pressure bleed off or the engine to start/stall as described?
