P0440 and P0455 Codes 850

I was hoping the Brickboarders were spared, but I guess not. I wish I could help, but 1500 miles is a long commute.

As to your Pnnnn codes, firt thing to check is your gas cap. Unscrew it and screw it back down. Some autoparts store will rent a scanner and let you delete the codes.

Because you have 2 codes, a smoke test by a reputable shop will show the leaking part. If the smoke enters the manifold, a oneway valve could be stuck open. Do not let any shop replace a part without doing a smoke test first!

The other possibility is a broken "J" hose above the right rear wheel. Mine was obvious as soon as I touched it, cracked about 2 inches. A smoke test will have smoke pouring out of the crack.

Take care of yourself, and your neighbors.
