Broken cable 850 1996

That is my thought currently. The metal piece that attaches to the cable came too far out and will not go back in place. That also comfirms why there is so much rust on the old shoes and drum. I pulled up on the brake handle and nothing changed. Next job, to remove the center console, probably put the wheel on the car for safety reasons, and grab the cable and pull.

Unfortunately, the cable is attached to the rear suspension via rivit (who thought of that!). At least I know how to pull the cable.
