How to Replace the Upper oil Cooler hose? 850 1997

Except for the 10mm bolt that holds both hoses to the block, it is not terribly difficult. The front of the car does need to be supported with jack stands, as the right front wheel needs to come off.

I suggest placing the new hose next to the old one before removal, it is nice to get the proper routing. The new hose comes with the bottom O ring, no need to purchase extra ones. The engine oil does not need to be drained.

First, remove the 10mm bolt holding the bracket to the block. The bracket hold both hoses. Then unplug the old hose from the radiator and plug in the new one.

Second, remove the Torx screw holding the lines to the solenoid by the crankcase pulley. Pull off the correct line. [My solenoid was so crusty, that I needed to clean off the crud before I could attach the new line(s)]

Remove the old line from the car and reattach the 10mm bolt with the holding bracket. This is the most difficult part. The angle is bad and the bolt for the AC compressor gets in the way, lots of luck getting fingers in there to get the bolt started.

BTW, it took me 2 hours to get the 10mm bolt started. My hands are just to big to get in there.
