I will tell you that I had a somewhat similar situation this winter. I normally park in the garage at night. Then I parked outside on top of a hill on a very cold and windy night. Early the next morning, the car would not start. I poured some gas winterizer and water disperser (STP type additive) into the tank, waited a few hours for the weather to warm up, and then it started up fine. I even bought a new fuel filter just in case, but I have not had to change it yet. I will do it on the next "car maintenance weekend" that I have. It could have just been a bad tank of gas.
Good luck.
