Help with choosing our next Volvo wagon V70-XC70

Just wondering if I could get a few tips on what certain makes / years to avoid when shopping. My wife has been driving a 240 wagon for close to 3 years with absolutely no problems. Pretty amazing for a 20 year old unrestored vehicle. As long as she checks the oil, the old girl will keep on running. My wife is ready to buy something a little newer and wants some ammenities like cup holders and heated leather. She really wants to stay with a Volvo wagon but I don't want to buy a lemon and you hear some mixed reviews about the v70/xc70's. Please let me know what too look for or avoid.
