A little spit and polish makes a huge difference. Your car looks better, you no longer are classified as a 'beater' driver, the MPG seems to improve, and the clear coat lasts longer.

I used Meguiars Ultimate Compound to get rid of the swirl marks and it also got rid of the oxidized paint. The car now looks smooth, eventhough the deeper scratches are still there - heck, its old and has been abused.

The best compliment I got was from someone in the grocery store parking lot. "Nice Volvo"
