I have a question, the SAS (Supplemental Secondary Air System)fan appears to be energized by 12 neg. being supplied to the relay, mounted to the fan. The fan is new and the relay has been tested and functions correctly (as does the fan). The wire that appears to energize the relay is a blue wire with a red stripe.
The car was cold this morning. We started it and after about 10 seconds the SAS valve opened. It appears to be controlled by a vacuum switch mounted to the radiator shroud. That switch also has a blue wire with a red stripe.
The fan never came on because it never received neg 12 volts to the blue/red wire. I am pretty sure you would never want the SAS valve open and pump not running.
It did not throw the P410 code either.
I am thinking of tapping into the blue red wire on the vacuum switch an sending that to the fan.
Any thoughts or ideas on this would surely be appreciated.
