Modified Mondeo platform? Nope, The jag shares the same platform as the Lincoln. The belgium made "Ford of Europe" Mondeo comes with either 4cyl or 6cyl. The 6 cylinder does not have an automatic transmission option, manual only. IMHO, Jaguar, since being taken over by Ford approx 10yrs ago are now competant luxury sedans, offering both performance and reliability. They will blow the doors off most cars including Volvo Turbos and have arrived at the prestigious status they once had many years ago. Ford ownership of Jag was the best thing that ever happened to Jag, and the same holds true for Volvo...
