Re: Reason to Cry 850 96

"No handling"

All the magazine reviews give the XR8/TE50 glowing comments about their handling and balance (same chassis setup). In fact, I believe comments include one of the best RWD cars available in Oz and certainly the best locally made.

"No brakes"

Have you driven an 850? Woeful. I had to put the 17inch brake kit on mine to stop the pedal going to the floor, shuddering, and severe fade. All this on the road let alone any track work. The Fords have 330x32mm slotted brakes which are very good for a road car (I optioned the Tickford brakes).

"No finesse"

There is certainly better. However, compared to putting 184kW+ through the front wheels of an 850 there is no reason to criticise the Ford.

"I'm biased"

YES - certainly are. Maybe you haven't owned the variety of cars I have. There are pros and cons to all of them.
