Rotor service limit? S70

Andrew there's a minimum service limit where you can install new pads and a minimum service limit to discard the rotors entirely, regardless of the pad thickness. The original volvo has a minimum stamped on the rotor, perhaps on the edge.

By the way brakes are one of the easiest jobs on your car and you save a ton doing them yourself. I would guess original pads from Borton or Tasca are between 55-65 and the rotors about 75 each. Maybe you know this.

But if you do, you know to call an auto parts store (or any volvo dealer parts department) for the minimum service limit. The dealer can look them up by your VIN if you happen to have a special rotor size.

Did the shop give you the thickness of the each rotor? Some just tell you need new ones.

A local tire store told me I need shocks because I had over 150,000 miles. The shocks were brand new. I told the service desk to ask the mechanic if they were bad. The mechanic never looked at the shocks. Now I get tires elsewhere.
