I think, in retrospect, it was vapor lock/lawn mower. I got it started, and it ran fine.

I noticed the leak on my way to pick up a client, luckily off of the highway. Drove maybe 5 minutes with it steaming. but temp never rose and engine never showed any signs of over heating, etc.
