Weird problem to diagnose S70 2000

Norm, though I need to have one, it will have to wait at least another month or two before I will be able to afford it. I start a new job in June and still need to select a seller myself. There are a ton of sellers out there. General consensus is 'caveat emptor' but many members here, at Swedespeed and MVS have ID'd who they bought from with good luck so there are a few proven sellers out there. I plan to post after I buy to let people know about my experience and who I bought from. I don't recognize that seller name from people they mentioned, but they could just as well be fine. A few write of not being able to get it to work but they seem to be in the minority.

Regarding the 'B+' cable, I must agree and I would second Herbs' recommendation to check it. Be thorough. Mine appeared just fine where it entered the underhood fusebox. It was only after I disconnected and pulled the cable that the damage was evident. All four of the wires were hardened and the jacket discolored from heating at least 3-5 inches from the connector, and the underside was hiding some corrosion too. So it is a sneaky bastard. Most every owner eventually has to replace it so even if it's not the source of your troubles, it's a certainty that you'll eventually have to have one. It fixed my headlight dimming at idle issue and I'm glad I didn't wait for worse things to show up.

Herb is also right, of course, about the dealer being able to do software updates.
