I think that Volvospeed has instructions for removing the grill from your car with the hood closed.

I did that on one of our 850s, then turned all 6 clips to the same side to make the job easier.

If I remember correctly, there are 6 clips that are relatively small and only have to be pushed a half inch or so to remove them. You may have to remove the air guard to get at them.
