So this is the message I get from the dealer: Bring the car in with title and registration and they will order a pre-cut key from Volvo for $85. When that arrives in a few days, they will make a service appointment and charge a $38 "software fee" and $175 for labor. So about $300 to get a couple of keys.
Yes I would only be saving $100, but you can see why it would be nice to avoid those three trips to the dealer, including the inconvenience of having someone twice having to drive me and pick me up for the service trip.
