I think we get $100 for the key, the remotes are about $90 plus 1/2 hr to program it. The key is 1/2 an hr to program it. I guess they think all T6 owners can afford it. All cars 99 and up have an immobilizer system, there's a chip in the key which need to communicate with the ECM correctly before the car will start. Older keys are like $30 it think, those are special ordered from Germany and don't need to be programmed.
