Pinnacle is an excellent top of the line wax. I used it a couple months ago The whole detailing set is about $110-120 and would last a while.
You can find it here, but shop for a better price, this stuff blows Meguiar's out fo the water. If there are any light scratches and bug/sap residue you should take it off first with a non or low abrasive cleaner or rubbing compounds on the bug/sap/tar spots and light scratches, but be careful and following directions(make sure if you have a clear coat, that it is clear coat friendly).
Then move onto using pinnacle's set.

If you don't want to spend all that on a set, here is another suggestion that would cost around $30-40 and still have a very nice shine and protection. This ia about what I use. Make sure to have a couple applicator pads, terry clothes, and diapers clothes.

If you want to keep your cars finish very clean, use a non or low abrasive cleaner or rubbing compounds on the bug/sap/tar spots and light scratches, but be careful and following directions(make sure if you have a clear coat, that it is clear coat friendly) do this after washing the car first. Next, if you want to buy the individual waxes, I suggest at least using a cleaner wax(like meguiar's no. 6) before using a final wax like carnuba. It helps the surface of the finish a bit more to be clean and not seal in things. Finally try using a high polish wax (if you want your car to shine) or carnuba (like meguiar's no. 26).

Either of this approches will take around 3 hours to wash, clean, and wax your car. That's if you like to take the time to keep your baby very clean and neat.
