The rubber piece beside the flame trap is only a few inches long. It is then hooked to a hard plastic tube that runs under the intake manifold to the other side of the intake manifold. Once it is under the manifold the hard plastic tube turns back into a rubber hose. If it is broken on one end, it is probanly broken on both ends. I replaced mine yesterday. I managed to cut the hard plastic hose on each end just behind the rubber with side cutters. Then I put a new piece of rubber hose over the hard plastic on each end and attached it to the flame trap and the intake. Another option might be to just run a new line over the top of the intake. It would not look "stock" but it would be a whole lot easier.
