ain't the turbo S70

If mileage is the issue, it's almost certainly not the turbo - there are other, more visible (and I might add, catastrophic) signs if you're turbo was failing. If you're worried about it, the best protection against a failed turbo is maintaining a schedule of regular oil changes.

Other things can affect your mileage, such as grade (or make) of fuel, condition of spark plugs, and winter temperatures.
