I just got my 850 last fall, and I had a 1987 740, the cars are way different. i love the ride of the 850 but i got lights comming on that only the dealer can shut off, its more of a delicate car than the 740, I beat the hell out of the 740 and it has 250 k miles on it and my husband is now driving it. he loves it. so far ive had no problems, if you do find a 850 flush the trans fluid right away, its really simple look on the ozbrick sight worked like a charm. keep your fluids changed. and good luck, i read about a lot of little things going wrong with these cars so if your a good do it yourselfer like we are you wont spend a small fortune at the dealer. I really do love the car. sort of fun to drive. good luck, kelly 1996 850 glt, 1987 740 gle
