New Volvo??? 850

I will be going to college this fall and I recieved a scholarship, therefore my parents offered to by me a car to go back and forth to school. My '93 850 they bought me two and a half years ago is running fine with no problems, it now has 120K on it. My question is should I just drive this car part way through college and get a new one later or should I replace it now because something is prone to break? My mechanic said it is in perfect condition and I really like my car. If you think I should replace it, what would you recommend as a replacement, I can get a new S60 or a used S80, but I heard the S80s are not reliable. Any feed back from S 60/80 owners about the reliability of their cars?
