On the 850 , it's even easer. No need to remove the headlight assembly.

Do steps 1-3 from davidm's list, and then remove the plastic piece from under the headlights... just pull it FIRMLY straight out. It's held in by three clips.

Then you can get to the retaining clips without removing the assembly.
