Flame trap trouble? 850 1997

As I told You before, I´ve just had both my sealings replaced at the biggest swedish Volvo-dealer/workshop, and You know from what country volvo comes from.
I´m quite sure that they know what they´re talking about. But of course, it´s Your car and Your descision, but it will cost You about 1000$ if You blow the sealings.
I have a friend who has a V70 -97 that has always been served by a volvodealer,
We checked his car and found no flametrap. Why not? What do You think?
