Bilsteins: do they break in? 850

I have about 10K miles on my Bilsteins and they feel the same as when they were new. I also wish my ride was more compliant but the Bilsteins are no worse to me, in city roads, than my stock shocks. I have 205/55-16 alloys on the 1995 T5. In fact I felt that ride was slightly (I stress slightly) improved over the stock but handling is much better.
