squeaks V70-XC70

I have this awful annoying squeak coming from the driver's side dash where the dash meets the windshield. I think there are a few bolts on the other side of the firewall (under the windshield wiper cowl, covers ECU/ cabin filter)? How does one get that cowl off? Do you have to remove the wipers? Thanks.
