I had a similar problem... I did not know about the recall..

I had the bulbs changed and the next day - my headlights and dash lights went out... I took it back to my garage and when they popped the switch out it was in 3 pieces 0 it had completley come apart in its housing. He took a switch out of a car for sale and replaced mine ( he didn't have any new in stock - I was in a hurry!!)
