Goodbye S70

The bottom line to this is that all cars have their problems, no car is perfect. Your Volvo never left you stranded, did it? What is required to keep customers happy is excellent customer service. I know everyone at my Volvo dealer as friends. I always get consistent quality customer service. We have a 240,740 turbo, 960 wagon and an S40. All of them have been great cars and have never left us stuck at the side of the road. It just depends on the dealer. Some want to make money, some want to have happy customers. With the 740 for example, one dealer wanted to replace the whole wiring harness for $1200 CAD. I brought it to the new Volvo dealer, and they replaced the one faulty wire for free! No more problems. (The other dealer was a Volvo/Subaru dealer that had just lost the Volvo franchise).

Yes, my new S40 has one rattle, and the rear cupholder won't close, and I think a rear caliper is a bit sticky, but otherwise I love it. Since I bought it last June, I have driven it 18000 KM with no 'problems'. Next service is coming up, I'll just tell them about the problems, and they'll fix them. (They know me-I will be back instantly if I have a problem)
