Does it even exist? Conductivity, Copper vs. aluminum! 850

OK, you got me curious about the relative heat transfer with this discussion so I looked it up. The thermal conductivity of copper is double that of aluminum, 1.0 vs 0.5 which leaves me with the impression that the use of aluminum is a cost or fabrication issue. The units are calories/second of heat transfer across a 1 cm cube with a temperature difference of 1 deg C. Nothing else comes close; brass for example, is about 0.2.
