Does it even exist? Conductivity, Copper vs. aluminum! 850

Interesting discussion. Keep in mind that even slight concentrations of other elements may drastically change the thermal conductivity of either aluminum or copper. Only pure alum and copper have the high values you cite. In addition, pure silver is probably the best heat conductor out there; gold is good too - somewhere between copper and alum. Price? Oh yeah, that's a factor!!
