How do I replace the backlighting bulbs for the climate control (heat) panel? 850 1997

I got the knobs off, but there weren't any screws. The Chilton manual never really talks about the heater/AC panel, but does talk about the instrument panel lighting in general and implies that the dash has to come out???

I'll carry a candle around befoe I pull the dash to replace a bulb :)
