Well, I don't suggest that one abuse any machinery (unless it's a race car built for that purpose) but driving any new car "sensibly" is always a good idea.
I've been in the auto bus. for many years and many years back Volvo and others use to use "break-in" ("virgin") oil and have a 1000 mile inspection where the oil was changed, valves re-checked/adjusted, cylinder heads re-torqued, etc, etc and those days are gone, have been for many years.
My point here wasn't to say that one shouldn't drive a new car sensibly but just that if one treats it "normally" (as one should always with any car) that ones new car will be OK.
