Hi Fred,

The rubber strips come off to install the "Eurorail" option. Once that is done you'll still need the load bars that clamp between the rails. All very pricey. If you open your doors, you'll see a small cup or indentation at the top of the doorframe. This is where a temporary rack clamps on.

I understand THULE (Too-ly) makes the stuff Volvo sells at a premium, so you might find a THULE distributor and give them a call. I'd start with an outdoor / camping / bike shop.
