Bilstein Touring Class Struts DONT WORK!!!! 850 1996

Well.... The much awaited wait has come to a painstaking end!!!

I ordered the Bilstein Touring Class Struts from IPD last week (waited until they went on sale) for my Volvo 850 Wagon NON Turbo and had my Volvo dealer install them and align the car for me.

Very eagarly i took my wagon back to the same roads that gave me a headache with the rough/harsh ride and thers is NO DIFFERENCE in the ride!!!!!!! I am really dissapointed, as i was hoping that these "touring class" struts would offer a easier ride than the OEM Boge strutsn, but they did not.

Dont get me wrong, my wagon rides like a dream on well carpeted roads but it is the ones with the potholes and bumps that kill me. My wife says that "the car does not go over the bumps but THROUGH them".

Anyways, I dont plan on selling the Wagon for now because both my wife and I love the features, safety and (hopefully) reliability of our Wagon, and will simply have to get used to the rough ride.

I would like to ask if the Volvo engineers only tested the 850 in Sweden, where (I am assuming) all the city and highway roads are perfect and dont have a single bump or pothole!!!!! OR they must have been smoking some serious stuff to design such a nice car with such a heavy and hard suspension.

PS. I also drove a 99 V 70 and a 2001 V 70 (major updates and modifications compared to the 99 in susupensions, engine, design etc) and the BOTH ride 100 times better than my 850!!!! (and no i cannot afford to get either the 99 or 2001 as yet but someday i will!!!)

Peace and Good luck

Ali
