Timing belt/replacement engine update 850 1996

I just did a serpentine belt replacement on my '96, with the new routing (more contact with generator pulley), and I fail to see how it could "jump" off a pulley unless something was seriously misaligned or someone installed the wrong belt, or misrouted the belt. The belt is supertight and tough to install on my car even with the tensioner fully unsprung and pinned in this position. Watch each pulley with the engine idling to see if one wobbles, indicating a bent pulley. Where on the belt is it wearing? Is it rubbing on something? Is it properly routed? Maybe your belt tensioner spring is busted?
