Timing belt/replacement engine update 850 1996

The wear is around the entire belt, about one-third of the way from the left edge to the center of the belt. I checked the pulleys and there MAY be a slight wobble in the one highest up (above the alternator), but it may be an optical illusion. Also, right now I can't tell if the belt is beginning to wear or whether there are marks on the belt from the production process. I'll keep an eye on it.

The belt tensioner was replaced when I had the replacement engine and new alternator put in. I assume that means the spring is new as well. But the mechanics at the dealer had a tough time lining it up correctly. They asked several times if I was in an accident, and I wonder if there is some kind of bend in the frame that might be causing this. Eyeballing the belt in operation I cannot see any problems. Hopefully, the recent events have just made me a little paranoid...

Thanks,

Joe C.
