I've not seen a rear main seal leak on an 850, so you are going to have to clarify this for me.

If, as he says, the leak is on the right side of the car (passenger side) and the rear main seal is on the left side of the car (driver's side), how does this sound like the rear main seal is leaking?

Is it typical that the rear main seal leak travels from one side of the engine to the other?

As I've said, I've not seen a rear main seal leak on an 850 and I'd like to be prepared, with my car, when it does occur.
