SRS light re-set 850 1994

Here's one for you: My SRS light came on and after downloading the trouble codes as per the instructions I cleaned the contacts at each of the front seatbelt retracters. I then went to clear the SRS light and now can't get the code light to work at the B5 socket. I even tried to disconnect the battery in an attempt to re-set the computer...all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas ? Could the B5 socket have gone bad ?
