...in (some) defense of your dealer, they probably did some diagnostics to see if the voltage regulator was faulty and cooking the battery.

You're lucky they didn't also sell you a brand new Bosch alternator in addition to the battery!

As previously stated, I would probably just have slapped in a new battery. If THAT one also went in a few months, then I'd start doing diagnostics.
