I went to our friend the independent today, (very good, but very busy) I limped out there & he whacked in an Interstate & all is well. Problem solved, the wife had left on the back seat reading light for the kiddo. A week ago! He checked the alternator out as being OK, & I wanted him to look at other things for summer travel: How the oil leak repair he did 3 mos. ago was holding up, & there's a small leak back. And, he found that grease had escaped from the boots around both front drive axles. This is strange, beacause it appears that when I had driven through some deep water, it forced out grease onto the drive axles. Through small holes in both boots as though someone had made them to inject grease. (Perhaps I'll make a separate post on that one), but any input would help.

I can't say enough about the value of this forum. Responses are quick, & very helpful to sort things out. Thanks to all. Sorry about bashing dealerships. There must be great ones around. I just can't go to the one nearest to me.
