Survey, Is climate an issue with evaporators?

I live in Reno, NV, no evaporator problems on my 94 850 with 120K miles
Also no problems on the 98R wagon with 45K miles.

My mechanic told me the reason many fail is due to the upper engine bushing (mount) not being replaced when needed. The engine moves under load, and stresses the connector to the evaporator at the firewall, causing it to leak.
