Ive been using 87 octane the majority of the time i've had my car (17k miles) without a problem..... octane ratings really do not affect preformance that much aside from running high end engines without "knocking." As far as i know, the S40 does not even say it requires high octane fuel for peak preformance anyway.... the regular fuel will do just fine, enjoy!
