There's no need to ever install a turbo timer UNLESS you're racing. I have yet to see a newer (than '87) water cooled Volvo turbo fail from bad bearings.
My '86 745T still has an oil cooled only turbo and I don't want or need a turbo timer (nor do I idle the engine for 1-2 minutes) because I'm not racing the car immediately before shutting the engine off.
If you're driving normally before shutting the engine off, the turbo bearings are cool enough.
You'ld be better off spending the money on a good synthetic oil instead.
