I work at a dealer and I've never said that replacing that part was difficult. The part costs $416 (exactly) at my dealers parts department and the part just unscrews with 4 inverted torx screws (new ones included too). I'd say that realistically, the job's probably worth about 1 hour in a shop considering diagnostic time (reading codes with a scan tool) as no one works for free.
If one wants to just replace the module themselves w/o paying any diagnostic labor (assuming it's the control module), then one could do it themselves and save themselves some money.
