Slow start times / Low torque on C70 HT

I had the same with my R, and from what I discovered, it's by design. My 94 854t was totally diffrent in stock form. For traction/safety Volvo limits hp/tq in 1st gear, notice how much more power comes when you shift to 2nd? I installed the IPD goodies, and still weak low end. Scott @ IPD tells me that by design my max power comes & 4500 rpm. Install a mbc, and the problem is gone. I now get 14-16 psi at earlier rpm, and it's constant, a big differance in acceleration. Your actuator adjustments are only for the low end spool up, ecu will override after that. If you install mbc that will change, since you eliminate ecu control, just make sure to install boost guage. I actually had to turn my actuator down after mbc installed, too much boost too soon can damage connector rods...be careful. You will never get rid off turbo lag w/automatic...it's the way it is. Try power braking off line, it might help.

I live @ 4500 above sea level, and a turbo shure helps.
