I have just experienced major sunroof problems and had to remove it. I learned a lot about it during the removal. I believe it doesn't matter. There is a gutter under the whole sunroof glass that has drains in each of the 4 corners. My track broke and would not close all the way. It left about a 1/4 inch gap on the passenger side and was closed on the driver side. My wife was out in the car all day and it was extreamly rainy. It never leaked a drop in the car and you could look up and see light at the gap! My opinion is your ok!
